Our search for a vacation home started with email inquiries to two ads in the Boston Globe. One agent sent us more info on the listing. The other agent was Ken. Ken not only sent us the info, but asked us a series of questions to begin to understand our interests and hobbies. He asked us what we wanted for nearby entertainment and how busy or quiet we wanted the area to be. What size lake. Do we like to fish, boat, etc. With this information Ken lined up an entire weekend for us so that we could look at a variety of properties in different settings. This was very helpful to us in determining where we wanted to buy. Ken’s listing was nice but we liked another one better. This was where Ken really shined. Acting as a buyer’s broker on our behalf, Ken went to work on market analysis and helped us formulate an offer. Ken also assisted us with a home inspection and got the sellers to escrow money to cover the costs of a few repairs. Our offer was ultimately accepted and was tens of thousands less than the asking price. Ken’s work did not stop there. He also assisted us by recommending insurance agents and helped us get through the closing quickly and orderly. His knowledge of the process made everything so much easier for us. Being from out of state, we were unaware of many items unique to buying a home in Maine. Ken was great! We highly recommend him and his agency.
